Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) A huge thank you to Steve Broomhead for donating this wonderful (and unexpected) aural document to old survivers of the first art rock wave, as well as to our children's children's children. I was lucky to see "Maestoso" live in 1980 as a support act for "Saga", unaware then what a great musician and composer Woolly Wolstenholme really was. This changed radically in the decades to come. Alas, the established music industry obviously wasn't interested in his works, so spotting them for purchase wasn't easy most of the time. Therefore it's great to have this live recording now, no matter the sound quality. It contains songs from the first "Maestoso" album issued as Woolly Wolstenholme's 1st solo release, and material from a planned follow-up titled "Black Box", which was shelved, unfortunately. "The Iron Maiden" is, of course, an old BJH classic, written in 1968 by Woolly Wolstenholme.

about

So this show was recorded straight from the desk onto a cassette tape.
It was purely for my own listening, and was never meant for release.
However, as there is still some interest in Maestoso, (and this tape has been requested a few times), I thought I may as well put it out there.

The cassette tape is almost 40 years old, and both hissy & dull sounding..
I have done my best to brighten and liven it up with home studio trickery!

Comments welcome..
Cheers.
